The floor contractors from \u00a0<a title=\"Andrew Watson &amp; Son Ltd\" href=\"http:\/\/www.andrewwatsonandson.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Andrew Watson &amp; Son Ltd<\/a>\u00a0have used <a title=\"F Ball\" href=\"http:\/\/www.f-ball.co.uk\/product_detail.asp?product=300%20HD&amp;catID=smoothing\" target=\"_blank\">STOPGAP 300 HD<\/a> adhesive for sealing the floor.<\/p>\n<p>2. The contractor brought to my flat 5 bags each weighting 25Kg of that adhesive.<\/p>\n<p>3. \u00a0According the <a title=\"StopGap 300 HD\" href=\"http:\/\/www.f-ball.co.uk\/documents\/datasheets\/STOPGAP%20300%20TDS%20Final%20Mar%2012%20LR.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">datasheet<\/a> of that product: &#8220;A 25kg bag of STOPGAP 300 mixed with 5.5 litres of clean water will cover\u00a0approximately 5.0m2 at a thickness of 3mm.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>4. If they used all of the bags to cover the 25.0m2 then they must used <strong>27.5 litres of water<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>5. The central heating inside my flat was off on 21st January 2014 due to Camden Council&#8217;s major works on the boiler room.<\/p>\n<p>6. The adhesive was installed on the 21st January 2014 when the heating was off.<\/p>\n<p>7. The equivalent amount of 27.5 litres of water have to go somewhere when it evaporates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On the 27th January 2014,<\/strong>\u00a0Mr P.M.,\u00a0BRICS Contractor Manager from GAB Robins Ltd, stated that<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">&#8220;The condensation problem is <strong>unique<\/strong> to your property&#8230;&#8221; and that <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">&#8220;This issue <strong>has never arisen<\/strong> at any other property where this task has been completed&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>On the 29th January 2014<\/strong>, Mr\u00a0Karl Helming,\u00a0Technical Services Officer for F-Ball (manufacturer of the Stopgap 300 HD) informed us that:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">&#8220;From your recent email we understand that 150 kg of Stopgap 300 powder water mix floor smoothing underlayment was applied and was allowed to dry with all windows closed in a cold environment and there is condensation on walls, doors and windows. \u00a0<strong>This is not unusual<\/strong> as when the floor smoothing underlayment is mixed with water some is chemically bound with the hydration process and the remainder evaporates; if this is in an enclosed cold environment <strong>condensation can occur.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Below you can see a video that shows how to prepare and apply the STOPGAP 300 HD adhesive:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ybo-TltT3rc\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The known facts at the moment are: 1.
